Boathouse Bartender Battle

After some time spent getting inspired at Belle Isle Craft Spirits’ distillery, our bartenders crossed the river to our Rocketts Landing location. There they were challenged to flex  their creative muscles and make some unique and exciting cocktails using their new favorite spirit, moonshine.

The rules were simple: use moonshine and have fun! Each of our locations had two representatives to battle it out. A panel of judges chose the winning cocktails from each location, plus an overall winner. The winning bartender would have their drink featured for the month of February at their home Boathouse, and at all Boathouses for Valentine’s weekend.

Cole from Casa del Barco took home the grand prize for his cocktail, Mule Kick. It features Belle Isle Honey Habanero moonshine, mango puree, and muddled serrano peppers. Finished off with ginger beer. You can find the recipe for the Mule Kick on our Casa Del Barco blog!

Jess from The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing was our other big winner with her Honey Habanero Manhattan, a true classic cocktail with a twist. She used Belle Isle Honey Habanero moonshine, sweet vermouth and bitters.

Celeste at The Boathouse at Short Pump Town Center created Pucker Up!, a tart and balanced refreshment with Belle Isle moonshine, elderflower liqueur, fresh squeezed lemon juice and ginger simple syrup.

Deana from our Boathouse location at Sunday Park brought us the Jito-Rita, a hybrid cocktail with Belle Isle Honey Habanero moonshine, blanco tequila, simple syrup, fresh lime juice, muddled mint & jalapeno.

Not only can you meet the Belle Isle guys every Thursday this month at The Boathouse, but if you’re dining with us for Valentine’s Day, you can enjoy these amazing cocktails, created by our staff specifically with you in mind.
